The school is a buzz with the excitement that December brings. The students are busy in Music preparing for the concert. We have created the Artwork for the Christmas Cards for 2013. We will be attending a play called Seussicals which will be presented at the McLab Theatre in the morning of Thursday, December 12, 2013. A permission slip should have come home to be completed so that a student may attend. This completed permission slip and a fee of $6.00 is required as soon as possible.
This has been a very busy week in the classroom. We have had a few students away either because of illness or the weather. Those of us that did make it prepared for and wrote a Math Test. When you receive the test home you will also receive a note explaining areas of strength and area that require more practice.
Most students presented their 'November Paper Bag Book Reports' this week. It was great to see that many of the students had put a lot of thought and work into the project. It was great to watch them using the Presentation Skills we learned earlier this year. I have decided not to do a December Book Report. We continue to work on creating sentences and journal writing. Our next Math Unit is working with Whole Numbers. We will focus on numbers to ten thousand, less than, greater than and equal to. We looking at ordering numbers, estimating and so on. Another week has passed - soon it will be Christmas.
