Week of September 30th

Well September has vanished and October has begun.  We have been very busy learning the routines and expectations within the class.  Also, we have learned our Gmail address and how to access our Google Drive accounts.  We have created and are in the midst of creating a few different documents.

Mrs. Kloschinsky will be visiting our class tomorrow for our second lesson in Bring Your Own Device (BYOD).  I am also learning about this program. I will share more information when I know more.

We have been in 'Mathletics' an awesome website for Math which the students can access from home.  I believe our East Elementary Parent's Association (EEPA) has kindly covered the yearly fee. The student's have their user name and passwords in the of the agenda. In the future, there may be homework assigned from this site from time to time.  Likewise, Black Gold has one of the best technology websites in the province.  Its address is  http://engagingstudents.blackgold.ca/ .

Tomorrow is our weekly assembly and we are proud to recognize our first Student of the Week, Steven. For the new folks, Student of the Week is a school wide program that recognizes the accomplishment (s) of an individual student from each grade. In our class that person is "Thumb Buddy Special" and has the job of my Teacher's Assistant. On the Friday assembly these students are awarded a certificate. Then all of the Students of the Week for the month are put into a draw for an opportunity to have "Pizza with the Principal".

It is my intention to blog once a week on our site to keep everyone abreast of the happenings within the classroom.  If you sign up to be a member, you should receive an email when something has been updated.  Please feel free to comment or contact me by gmail.  Here is to a eventful October!
